Is HempyCat ™ Litter flushable?

Yes! HempyCat™ Litter is septic safe. Unlike clay-based litters, HempyCat™ Litter does not contain harmful clumping agents or clay that could build up and clog septic systems. The natural antibacterial properties of hemp means our cat litter is resistant to bacteria. In addition, our litter is 100% biodegradable and can be composted.

Yes! HempyCat™ is unscented. Cat's noses are much more sensitive than our human noses. As a result, your cat may not like the same scents you do. HempyCat™ never adds artificial perfumes or fragrances.

How do I keep the litter box from smelling and how often should I scoop?

HempyCat™ Litter is proven to be highly effective at controlling odors. It's best to scoop daily to keep the rest of the litter fresh. Cats are naturally very clean animals and prefer a clean litter box.

Why is HempyCat™ the healthiest and safest litter?

HempyCat™ Litter is engineered to be the healthiest and safest litter in the world. Unlike clay, or pelletized/bound plant-based litters made from compressed or bonded waste dust, our litter is the only litter on the market made from solid, whole granules from the core of the hemp plant.
Pelletized litters often have low absorption, and rapidly expand and break down when exposed to moisture, becoming dangerous to cats if eaten. Litters with bound dust will break down when wet, leading to harmful airborne dust when dry.

How can I reduce tracking?

HempyCat™ Litter is designed to be lightweight and low tracking.
Regardless of the cat litter you buy, all lightweight cat litter will have some tracking due to the lightness of the litter.
Adding a mat in front of the box can help keep litter from being tracked.

Can HempyCat ™ Litter be used in a multiple cat household?

Absolutely!
Our general recommendation is one cat per litter box.
To avoid potential conflicts, consider placing boxes in different areas of the house, rather than right next to each other.

Is it safe to change cat litter while pregnant or with a suppressed immune system?

While there are no health risks associated with HempyCat™P Litter, pregnant women and people with suppressed immune systems should exercise caution and avoid contact with used cat litter, as cat waste can transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis.

Is HempyCat™ Litter compatible with automatic self-cleaning litter boxes?

No.
The lower absorbency and use of clumping agents in traditional litter leads to the formation of extremely large solid clumps; which are then caught in the sensor rake and removed from the box.
Unfortunately, self-cleaning litter boxes are designed to remove these clumps only.
